The underblanket is made from the same 100% boiled wool as our coolers – just considerably heavier. Between two layers of boiled wool sits a middle layer of 90g wool fleece from lavalan® pure, pure new wool from Europe.

This third layer retains warmth without making the rug stiff.

Three layers of wool, no synthetic lining: the rug still keeps you warm even once it has become damp, and absorbs moisture without feeling clammy.

What it's for

  • as an underblanket beneath the stable or rain rug
  • for leading and walking on cold days
  • as a travel rug in the trailer
  • as a warming rug in the stable

Trim made from 100% cotton, optionally with genuine lambskin trim at the withers. All rugs are fitted with a front closure and a removable tail strap. You can also order your rug with a simple surcingle, cross surcingle and leg straps — just select your desired configuration and add it to your cart along with your rug.

Pure natural fibre instead of polyester fleece: boiled wool keeps you warm, breathes and releases no microplastic when washed.

Material: 100% wool

Wool is naturally temperature-regulating, breathable, and moisture-wicking. It absorbs moisture without feeling wet quickly, creating a pleasantly dry climate on the horse's back. At the same time, it provides warmth in cold conditions and has a balancing effect at higher temperatures. Thanks to its natural lanolin content, boiled wool is water and dirt-repellent, odor-resistant, and particularly easy to care for. Its dense, robust structure makes it durable and resilient – ideal for horses that deserve the highest comfort combined with natural functionality.

Our wool blankets can be easily washed 1–2 times per year in the cold wool cycle in the washing machine. Use only a lanolin-enriched wool detergent for this purpose.

Coarse soiling can usually be removed simply by brushing. Another advantage of wool: odors naturally dissipate, so frequent washing is not necessary.

Between wash cycles, we recommend regular care with lanolin to maintain the natural properties of the wool.
