Chevaux Nature horse rugs and saddle pads are sold primarily through our own online shop. You can also find us at international equestrian events. You can also arrange a private shopping appointment with us in Hamburg.

Items marked as available immediately are shipped as quickly as possible and can be sent by express. All other products — which is the rule, as we keep only very few one-off pieces in stock — are made for you. The delivery time is usually 15 working days, at most 30 working days. The delivery time that applies is shown on the product page.

Exception for personalisation: with embroidery, your own logo or made-to-measure padding it may take longer – we will tell you beforehand how long.

Two ways:

Standard size. Our standard sizes fit the vast majority of horses. For saddle pads, a back length of 55 cm fits almost every saddle, and 51 cm fits ponies. The withers cut-out is around 15 cm — thanks to the way we make them, this is not critical, even if measurements were not exact.

Made to measure, at no extra cost. For particularly narrow, large or broad horses, taking measurements is worthwhile. On our page Size guide you will find step-by-step instructions with all measuring points and the complete size chart in cm, inches and feet.

Within Germany we charge €7.00, within the EU €17.00. For orders of €100 or more, standard shipping within Germany and the EU is free for you.

We also ship outside the EU. You will see the shipping cost for your country at checkout, once you have entered your address. Import tax and customs duty are not included — they are only charged on delivery. More on this under “What additional costs apply to deliveries outside the EU?”.

Within the EU, you only pay what is shown at checkout.

For deliveries outside the EU — for example to Switzerland or the United Kingdom — the destination country charges import tax, and possibly customs duty and a clearance fee from the carrier. You pay these costs directly to DHL or to customs, not to us. They are not included in the shop price.

The exact rates are set by the destination country, and we have no influence on them. If you would like to know in advance what to expect, write to us — we will help you work out an estimate.

Merino wool and conventional boiled wool differ mainly in origin and processing. Merino wool comes from merino sheep, which are known for their fine, soft wool. This wool is particularly light, breathable and non-scratchy, which makes it ideal for sensitive skin. Conventional boiled wool, on the other hand, can come from various sheep breeds and is produced by fulling, which compacts the wool and makes it water-repellent. Boiled wool is generally sturdier and warmer than merino wool, but may not be suitable for horses with sensitive skin or coat. Merino wool and boiled wool have different properties and advantages, depending on the intended use. Because of their unique and outstanding properties, both are preferable to synthetic fabrics.

Boiled wool is sturdy and firm — completely unproblematic for the vast majority of horses. For horses with sensitive skin or coat, we recommend merino wool: the fibre is much finer and softer. If your horse reacts to static charge, cotton is the right choice — it doesn't build up a charge in the first place.

All CHVX*N products made of cotton are washed before production to prevent so-called “shrinkage”, i.e. the “shrinking” of the materials. This also applies to all bindings. In general, we recommend following the care instructions.

We use only natural fibres for our horse rugs, i.e. wool or boiled wool, merino wool and cotton. Cotton is a purely plant-based fibre and, unlike synthetic textile fibres, cannot build up static electricity.

Wool only becomes charged if it is too dry. That is why we recommend caring for wool with lanolin (wool grease).

In short: much less than you think.

Natural fibres largely clean themselves. Dry dirt can be tapped or brushed out, and odours disappear with airing. With normal use, one wash a year is enough for wool.

• Wool and boiled wool: cold wash on the wool cycle, lanolin-enriched wool detergent, no fabric softener. A lanolin treatment once or twice a year.
• Merino wool: the same – but be sure to use an enzyme-free wool detergent. The enzyme protease attacks the fibre.
• Cotton: maximum 40 °C, delicate detergent, gentle cycle.
• Sheepskin: maximum 30 °C, delicate detergent, gentle cycle.

Yes, even for a single item: embroidery with a name or logo €40, leather patch with a name €40 (for cooler rugs and stable rugs). We'll agree on the details with you after your order. With your own logo, it may take a little longer.

Most CHVX*N rugs are only made once you order them. That way we don't produce anything nobody needs in the end. Your satisfaction comes first for us, which is why we commit to a 100% satisfaction guarantee. If you are ever not happy, send us a message.

How a return works is explained under “What if I don't like the rug or the colour?”.

All Chevaux Nature rugs are handmade from high-quality natural fibres. They are particularly robust. Our aim is for your rug to last a lifetime. Should something happen anyway, we will gladly check whether a repair is possible.

That depends on how you ordered. Standard size and catalogue colour: you have a 14-day right of withdrawal from receipt, without giving reasons. Beyond that, we voluntarily grant you a 30-day right of return.

Made-to-measure, special colour or embroidery: these rugs are made especially for you and your horse. There is no right of withdrawal for them — we point this out to you before you order.

In both cases, simply write to us at info@chevaux-nature.com. If something doesn't fit, we can usually find a solution — even where we wouldn't have to.

You can pay with credit card, PayPal, Klarna, Shop Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, iDEAL and Bancontact. Which payment methods are shown to you depends on your country.

Prepayment by bank transfer is possible on request — it cannot be selected at checkout. To arrange it, send us a message.
