Orders & Shipping

Chevaux Nature horse and saddle blankets are primarily distributed through our own online shop. In addition, you can find us at international equestrian events. You can also arrange a private shopping appointment with us in Hamburg.

CHVX*N horse and saddle blankets are handcrafted to order. Once your order is received, it takes approximately two weeks before it ships. Shipping within Germany typically takes around 3 days. Please allow approximately three weeks total from your order date for delivery. The wait is worth it!

The same as a standard size: around two weeks to make, plus about three days in transit within Germany. Allow roughly three weeks from your order.

Made-to-measure costs no extra. Send us your measurements and we cut the rug for your horse.

More elaborate personalisation — a custom logo, for instance — takes longer. We'll tell you how long before you order.

If you're working to a date, write to us before ordering. We'll tell you honestly whether we can make it.

Two options:

Standard size. Our standard sizes fit the great majority of horses. For saddle pads, a 55 cm back length suits almost any saddle; 52 cm for ponies. The wither cutout is around 15 cm — the way we finish it, this is forgiving even if your measurement isn't exact.

Made to measure, at no extra cost. Worth doing for particularly narrow, tall or broad horses. Our Measurements page has a step-by-step guide to every measuring point and the full size chart in cm, inches and feet.

Not sure? Write to info@chevaux-nature.com and we'll work it out together. A second pair of hands and a flexible tape measure make it easier.

Within Germany we charge €6.99, within the EU €16.49. From an order value of €100 shipping is free for you.

We also ship outside the EU. The shipping cost for your country appears at checkout once you have entered your address. Import tax and customs duty are not included — those fall due on delivery. More on this under “What extra costs apply outside the EU?”.

Yes, we ship worldwide. You’ll see the exact delivery time and cost for your country at checkout once you’ve entered your address. For deliveries outside the EU, import duty and customs charges may apply — more on that under "What extra costs apply outside the EU?".

Within the EU, you pay only what the checkout shows.

For deliveries outside the EU — Switzerland or the UK, for example — the destination country adds import tax, possibly customs duty, and the carrier's clearance fee. You pay these directly to DHL or customs, not to us. They are not included in the shop price.

The exact rates are set by the destination country and are outside our control. If you'd like to know roughly what to expect, write to us and we'll help you work it out.

We're here for you. Feel free to contact us with any questions or requests, such as custom orders.

Chevaux Nature Products & Company

merino wool and conventional boiled wool differ mainly in origin and processing. merino wool comes from Merino sheep, which are known for their fine and soft wool. This wool is particularly lightweight, breathable, and itch-free, making it ideal for sensitive skin. Conventional boiled wool, on the other hand, can come from various sheep breeds and is produced through a fulling process, which compacts the wool and makes it water-resistant. boiled wool is generally more robust and warmer than merino wool, but may not be suitable for sensitive skin or sensitive horses. merino wool and boiled wool have different properties and benefits depending on the intended use. Both are preferable to synthetic fabrics due to their unique and excellent properties.

Boiled wool is robust and firm — entirely unproblematic for the great majority of horses. For horses with sensitive skin or coat we recommend merino wool: the fibre is considerably finer and softer. If your horse reacts to static, cotton is the right choice — it does not build up a charge in the first place.

Not sure? With the Sample Box you can handle and compare every fabric at home.

All CHVX*N cotton products are pre-washed before manufacturing to prevent so-called "shrinkage," i.e., the material from shrinking. This also applies to all edgings. We generally recommend following the care instructions.

We use exclusively natural fibers for our horse blankets, namely wool and boiled wool, merino wool, and cotton. Cotton is a purely plant-based fiber and, unlike synthetic textile fibers, cannot build up static electricity.

Wool only builds up static charge when it is too dry. Therefore, we recommend caring for wool with lanolin (wool fat).

In short: far less than you'd think.

Natural fibres largely clean themselves. Dry dirt knocks or brushes off, odours disappear with airing. With normal use, wool needs one wash a year.

  • Wool and boiled wool: cold wash on the wool cycle, lanolin-replenishing detergent, no fabric softener. A lanolin treatment once or twice a year.
  • Merino wool: the same — but you must use an enzyme-free wool detergent. The enzyme protease attacks the fibre.
  • Cotton and organic cotton: 40 °C maximum, delicates detergent, gentle cycle.
  • Sheepskin: 30 °C maximum, delicates detergent, gentle cycle.

Full instructions are on our Fabrics & Properties page and in the care notes on every product page.

Warranty & Repairs

The great majority of CHVX*N rugs are only made once you order them. That way we produce nothing that nobody ends up needing. Your satisfaction matters most to us, which is why we commit to a 100% satisfaction guarantee. If you are ever not satisfied, send us a message.

How a return works is explained under “What if I don't like the rug or the colour?”.

All Chevaux Nature blankets are handcrafted from high-quality natural fibers. They are particularly durable. We aim for your blanket to last a lifetime. Should anything happen, we're happy to check whether a repair is possible.

Cancellation & Refund

That depends on how you ordered. Standard size and catalogue colour: you have a 14-day right of withdrawal from receipt, without giving reasons. Beyond that we voluntarily grant you a 30-day right of return.

Made to measure, special colour or embroidery: these rugs are made specifically for you and your horse. There is no right of withdrawal for them — we point this out to you before you order.

Either way, simply write to us at info@chevaux-nature.com. If something isn't right, we usually find a solution — including where we wouldn't have to.

Payment methods & security

You can pay by credit card, PayPal, Klarna, Shop Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, iDEAL or Bancontact. Which methods appear depends on your country.

Payment in advance by bank transfer is possible on request — it cannot be selected at checkout. Send us a message before you order.
